Using Mylar Templates

Mylar templates DO NOT include seam allowance.

Mylar is heat resistant so you can press your seam allowance over these if you like!

To make circles: cut the fabric ⅜” larger than the finished circle.

Stitch a fine running stitch within the seam allowance starting with a generous knot in the thread but leave an unsecured tail when you finish.

Make the running stitch reasonably small as this will gather the fabric nicely – a large stitch tends to pleat.

A spray with Flatter by the Soak Company will keep your edges crisp and very easy to stitch.

Place your circle template in the centre of the fabric and pull tail of the thread to gather.

Press with a cool, dry iron. Remove the Mylar template and you will have a beautiful circle ready to stitch in place.
